Marco Polo once said in his book "The Book of Marco Polo": "1500 miles east of Katai (mainland China), there is a place called Tokoname.

There is an independent island country, 1,500 miles east of Katai (mainland China), which is called [Zipangu].

That is [Zipangu].

It has been said that it produces enormous amounts of gold and that its palaces and houses are made of gold.

Zipangu is said to be a treasure trove of gold, and foreign countries have come to this country to occupy it.

This history has been passed down through the generations.

Whether this story is true or not is not certain.

However, there is no doubt that there are treasures in this country.

I would like to share such Japanese traditional [technique] [people] [kyusu] with the world.

I want to tell the world about such traditional Japanese [techniques] [people] [kyusu]. That is Zipangu*Tokoname.

*Tokoname: One of the six oldest kilns in Japan, Tokoname is a pottery town steeped in history.

Tokoname City is located on the west coast of the Chita Peninsula facing Ise Bay.
